Artist in Residence – March- April 2024
Led artists – Katrina Elliott
Location – Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department Lunchroom
We invited all Emergency department staff at Gladstone Hospital to take part in a collaborative mural. The project’s aim was to transform the lunchroom’s mundane white walls into a vibrant and inspiring space while also promoting the importance of self-care for our overall well-being. The butterflies in the mural represent how unique we all are, and the handwritten words (derived from the self-care for well-being pocket guide activity) around the butterflies are our reminder that we need to be participating in activities regularly as part of our self-care.
Drawing inspiration from the Queensland Health’s six building blocks of mental well-being.
